Mini Looms

For our fibers unit, my little 1st graders learned about the basics of weaving.  Each student created a mini Loom out of stiff board paper and used a template to cut the slits in the top and bottom to hold the stings.  After decorating their Looms, each student strung their own long Warp stings and then practiced the "Over-Under" pattern of the Weft strings.
