Found Object 

Snowflake Prints

The 1st graders had a blast combining their scientific and artistic sides during this project.  We studied images of snowflakes and discovered that they repeat their patterns (symmetry).  We talked about what lines and shapes are used to create these patterns and we discussed how we could replicate those marks.  The students then experimented with found objects and created prints that tried to show repeating patterns.  

They had so much fun testing out how to create marks and how much paint to use.  We really enjoyed the problem solving!
