2nd Grade 

"Shape Invaders"

For our 2nd grade Elements of Art review, we focused on Shapes and Texture.  The kiddos were challenged to create an outer space scene using only cut paper shapes.  We practiced our cutting, gluing, and layering while using our imaginations.  Once our pictures were dry, we then created a texture rubbing by placing a white paper on top and using the side of a crayon to reveal the picture underneath. 

 The student were so excited about the rubbings. They were calling them...

 "communications from space...like a fuzzy picture on TV."
